Georgian Roped Pattern Home Hardware â Buy Matching Hardware Online For Doors, Windows, Cabinets, Switch Plates & More

Creating a common theme for your home hardware is not as challenging as it may sound. The use of a common theme, such as a Georgian or Roped pattern and the same finish throughout the various rooms in your house can go a long way towards creating a unified look that will tie itself together nicely. Solid brass hardware offers a variety of finishes that can be used to complement your current décor. The traditional roped pattern (sometimes referred to as âGeorgian Ropedâ) offers a simple and classic pattern that can be found on various types of home hardware.
When replacing the hardware in your home it is important to remember that detail matters. Doorknob sets are a great place to start because they are a focal point of your exterior and interior doors. A roped pattern doorknob set adds a little extra interest to these knobs (beautiful glass and solid brass doorknob sets are available in this pattern too). Switch plates are easily overlooked but can tie into the look of your house when coordinated with doorknob sets or cabinet and drawer hardware. There are many opportunities throughout any home to update older and worn hardware with new and elegant solid brass replacements. By using solid brass you are ensured added durability and strength over time. Available finishes include Polished Brass, Antique Brass (for a more âagedâ effect), Polished Chrome, Satin Nickel and Oil Rubbed Bronze.
Roped pattern hardware is produced today â allowing you to easily incorporate it into your kitchen, doors, windows and any other area of your home. By using a common pattern throughout the various rooms in your home, you can use different shapes as needed. The roped pattern is most commonly used as a border for circular or square hardware. Just follow a few simple steps when replacing older hardware. First, measure carefully if you are planning on using pre existing holes in cabinets or drawers â not all hardware is the same size (the center to center spacing for pulls is especially important if you do not want to re-drill the existing holes). Second, tie the look together by replacing the hardware inside and outside your home. The exterior of your home says a lot about what to expect inside and is often overlooked during remodeling or redecorating.
This roped pattern hardware is readily available in home decorating magazines and online. Search for solid brass construction and be sure to ask questions. Most solid brass hardware is available in several finishes and sizes. This hardware is available online through LookInTheAttic & Company and they offer free design assistance and help.

Most people have either never heard of radon, or don’t exactly know what it is to begin with. This is typically why the health hazards that it represents are often overlooked. What radon comes from is radium decaying naturally and it soaks into the earth. This means that rocks, soil, and other things you would build your house on can all have the potential of emitting poisonous air that you can’t see or smell.

Easy DIY Projects – Upgrades and Minor Kitchen Renovation With Major Impacts
More often than not, the kitchen can be that area of the house that is long past neglected, in serious need of cleaning, and hasn’t been retouched since the contractors laid their print of approval on it. To many, a new carpet in the living area, or fresh tile on the bathroom floor, usually takes precedent over the ancient cabinets and cupboards surrounding the kitchen. And it makes sense. One of the caveats of kitchen remodeling is that it can be very, very, expensive. Howver …
